Altai Tavan Bogd is the highest mountain range in Mongolia and has massif-type. Tavan Bogd Mountain is located in Bayan-Ulgii Province and its Khuiten Peak is the highest point of Mongolia at 4374 meters above sea level. Besides Khuiten peak, the mountain includes another four peaks as Nairamdal peak, Malchin peak, Burged peak and Ulgii peak. The Nairamdal Peak forms the border tripoint between Mongolia, Russia, and China.
Day 1 Arrival in Ulaanbaatar
Arrive in Ulaanbaatar and transfer to selected hotel. After check-in hotel, we will do short city tour including Sukhbaatar Square, Chinggis Khaan Monument, National History Museum and Zaisan Hill for panoramic view of the city. Before dinner, we will enjoy Mongolian traditional folklore concert. Have a welcoming dinner. Overnight in selected hotel
Day 2 Ulaanbaatar – Trek to the top of Mount Tsetsee Gun (2256m) – Ulaanbaatar
Tsetsee Gun is the highest peak of Bogd Khan Mountain which became a National Park in the 18thcentury and recognized as the first one in the world. The Mountains are great for trekking, rich in flora and fauna.
09.30 am Leave the hotel and drive to Bogd Khan Mountain National Park
11.00 am Hike up to Tsetsee Gun peak for 5 km
13.00 pm Packed lunch on the peak
13.30 pm Walk back down 5km
14.30 pm Visit Manzushir Monastery on the bottom of the mountain
15.30 pm Drive back to Ulaanbaatar
17.00 pm Arrive in Ulaanbaatar

Day 3 Ulaabaatar – Ulgii Town – Tsagaan Gol Valley
After breakfast, we will take flight to Ulgii town. Upon arrival in Ulgii town, directly we will drive to Tsagaan Gol valley towards to Altai Tavan Bogd National Park. On the way, we will have a picnic lunch. Overnight in tent
Day 4 Tsagaan Gol Valley – Base Camp (3095m) beside the Potaniin Glacier
Today we will leave our vehicle in Tsagaan Gol valley and start our trekking towards Altai Tavan Bogd area. Today we will trek to Base camp about 17 km. Luggage will be carried on camel or horse. We will set up for the climbing and acclimatize around Base camp. Overnight in tent
Day 5 Base camp – Malchin peak (4050m) – Base camp
We will climb to the Malchin peak (4050 m above sea level) and its elevation makes a good acclimatization day for mountain climbers and provides a long climb, mostly on screw and requiring no technical equipment. Come back to Base camp for overnight. Overnight in tent
Day 6 Acclimatization day – Glacier skills
We will have a reserve day for mountain climbing to the peaks and preparation. Overnight in tent
Day 7 Cross the Potanin Glacier to our High Camp “Khonog Tolgoi” (3775m)
Early in the morning, we will walk around 12 kms through Potanin’s Glacier to Advance to camp in Khonog Tolgoi. Arrive in Khonog Tolgoi and set up tent. Overnight in tent
Day 8 Summit of Khuiten peak (4374m) and return to “Khonog Tolgoi” High Camp (3775m)
In the early morning, we climb to Khuiten Peak (4374 m above sea level). From the summit you will get spectacular views into land of China, Russia and Mongolia. It is permanently covered with glaciers and snow. Back to the High Camp. Overnight in tent
Day 9 Climb to Nairamdal peak (4082m) – return to Base Camp (3095m)
In the early morning, we climb to Nairamdal Peak (4082 m above sea level) which is the tripoint of the border of China, Russia and Mongolia. It is permanently covered with glaciers and snow. Then we will walk back to Base camp. Overnight in tent
Day 10 BC – Tsagaan Gol valley
In the morning, we will walk back to Tsagaan Gol valley. In the afternoon free time for relax. We can visit Tuva family to experience their nomadic lifestyle. Overnight in tent
Day 11 Tsagaan Gol valley – Ulgii town
Drive back to Ulgii town. Visit to Kazakh families living in the countryside. Enjoy their hospitality and experience different culture and custom. Visit local museum and black market. Overnight in local hotel
Day 12 Ulgii town – Ulaanbaatar
Take a flight back to Ulaanbaatar and arrive at Chinggis khan airport. Transfer to hotel and check in. In the afternoon, we will do short sightseeing tour including Bogd Khan Winter Palace Museum. In the afternoon free time for shopping and for relax. Have a farewell dinner. Overnight in selected hotel
Day 13 Ulaanbaatar – Terelj National Park – Ulaanbaatar
Terelj National Park is set in a spectacular valley only an hour’s drive from Ulaanbaatar. Visitors can view fascinating rock formations against a backdrop of pine-covered mountains and wander along the wooded banks of mountain stream. Guests can stay overnight in a snug Mongolian Ger (traditional Mongol dwelling) or in cozy guest rooms. It is an ideal place for taking a trip on a horse along the banks of river Tuul or the valley and for visiting local herding family.
09.00 am Pick up at the hotel. Drive to Terelj National Park. Excursion to Turtle Rock on the way
11.00 am Hiking to Aryapal meditation temple
13.00 pm Lunch at the tourist GER camp
14.30 pm Visit a nomadic family and do horse-riding
16.00 pm Drive back to Ulaanbaatar
17.30 pm Arrive in Ulaanbaatar
